Cleanroom Lab Coats & Frocks For Critical Environments
Cleanroom lab coats & frocks are lint-free and available in bulk-packed or clean-processed individually packed styles. These lint-free lab coats and frocks are often worn in less strict cleanroom environments where a cleanroom coverall is not required. Frocks are longer than lab coats and fall below the knee, whereas lab coats fall at or above the knee. Our customers typically prefer frocks in cleanroom environments due to the extra coverage. Three primary lint-free materials are used for cleanroom lab coats and frocks: Microporous-coated, SMS / SMMS and DuPont Tyvek. Each material has its pros and cons, which we will discuss below.
Microporous-coated cleanroom frocks are soft and consist of a nonwoven layer laminated to an outer microporous layer, making them liquid-splash protective yet soft and breathable. Microporous cleanroom frocks are the most popular due to pricing and comfort.
SMS cleanroom frocks consist of a tri-laminate 3-layer material. The top layer is spun-bond polypropylene, the middle layer is melt-blown polypropylene, and the bottom layer is spun-bond polypropylene. These lint-free frocks are very breathable, yet very durable and protective against light liquid splash.
SMMS cleanroom frocks are a brand new 4-layer version of SMS that offers more cleanliness, enhanced liquid-splash protection, and breathability for ISO5 Class 100 environments.
Tyvek cleanroom frocks are unique as a single-layer material, making them very comfortable, breathable, and extremely protective due to their hydroentangled composition. Tyvek is also antistatic coated, making it very popular with electronics manufacturers or other static-sensitive applications.

Lakeland CleanMax microporous cleanroom frocks come clean processed for ISO5 Class 100 use, and are individually packaged. They are free of silicone and latex. Their bound seams reduce risks of particle contamination and protect the wearer from liquid penetration. These frocks are individually packaged with an easy-open strip. These frocks feature a thumb loop as well as a hanger loop for hanging up. The Criti Clean SMS frock is knee length with a mandarin collar. These non-shedding SMS frocks are lightweight, breathable and very tear / puncture resistant. We recommend these frocks for less strict clean rooms of ISO6 Class 1000+.
DuPont IsoClean IC264swh cleanroom frocks are suitable for use in critical ISO5 Class 100 cleanrooms. Many customers strongly prefer the Dupont IsoClean apparel line due to the super-breathable, ultra-lightweight & soft feeling. The DuPont IsoClean sterile and non-sterile cleanroom frocks are extra-clean and come either clean & sterile, individually packaged, or clean & bulk packed. Zipper front closure, elastic wrists, and set-in sleeves ensure proper protection and comfort simultaneously.
DuPont Tyvek lint-free frocks are lint-free, anti-static, and offer superior protection against both dry particles and liquid splash. Choose the TY211 for frock-style knee-length coverage or the TY216 lab coat sytle for below hip-length coverage. These Tyvek frocks are lightweight, breathable, and very comfortable.
